okay this is how my teacher taught me : the 3x is the buddy , because at birthday oarties your always with your buddy right and there are other people like -2 and 4 so . You take the -2 and make it positive(opposite) and then put the positive 2 to the 4 and add it and you get 6 . next you take the 3x and divided it by another x which leaves just 3 then you take the 6 and the 3 and divide them both and the answer is 2
In order to solve equations like this, you need to keep the constants on one side and the terms on the other. You would first have to add 2 on both side to get rid of the 2 on the left. The equation would then look like this "3x=6". Now all you have to do is to simply it to have the left side just x. It would then be simplified in "x=2" as you divide both sides by 3. "x=2" would be the answer
