At this rate, how many bags of potting soil does Jenny use for 15 potted plants?

Set up a proportion:
[tex] \frac{2}{6} [/tex] = [tex] \frac{x}{15} [/tex]
Cross multiply and by have 30 = 6x.
Divide both sides by 6 and it takes:
5 bags for 15 potted plants.
5 bags because you use 1 bag for every three pots and 15/3 is 5
