A pet store has two guinea pigs. One has white fur and one has black fur. The white guinea pig has two recessive alleles for fur color (bb). The black guinea pig has one dominant allele (B) and one recessive allele (b) for fur color. What will most likely be the phenotypes of the offspring in a cross between the two guinea pigs? Explain your answer

Respuesta :

You wanna start with a punnet square. This punnet square will have four sections. Then you wanna put the bb on the top and the Bb on the side with each letter next to the outside edge of a box. in the punnet square. Then you match up the letters by box. you would end up with two boxes with Bb in it and two with bb in it. You know that the dominant B overshadows the recessive b so you have two squares of each color. this means there is an equal likelyhood you will get one or the other.
if you had 4 offspring then 2 would be black and 2 would be white because of the punt square being dominant (B) and the recessive of the black one and the 2 bb's of the white one it would come out both ways hope that helpped
