8 - 4:15 pm  = 8 hours and 15 minutes , minus the hour break  = 7 hours and 15 minutes . she earnt $64.38 for 7.25 hours work so 64.38 / 7.25  = 8.88 . she gets paid $8.88 an hour

working from 8 A.M. to 4:15 P.M. = 8 hrs and 15 minutes - 1 hr for lunch =
7 hrs and 15 minutes = 435 minutes

64.38 / 435 = 0.148 per minute

for 1 hr (or 60 minutes) = 0.148 * 60 = $ 8.88  per hr <====
