A family can have more than one person contributing to the household income for a better financial position.
The income earned by a household is defined as the money retributions received when the members of the household offer the factors of production they own in the factor markets. Income can be earned from three basic factors: land (the name of its retribution is a rent), capital (the name of its retribution is interest) and labor (the name of its retribution is wage). Of course different members of the household can contribute earning an income in exchange for their factors of production.
