You can place the object in a graduated cylinder. First measure original volume of water, then measure volume with object in water. Subtract original from new. For example, a 6 gram rock would make a cylinder of water go up 6 tic marks. If the object is large, place it in a tub or pool of water with the volume marked around the edges, like the graduated cylinder. Repeat steps.
