Range is the set of y-values included in a relationship.
Definition of Range
As stated above, range includes all of the y-values of a relationship. This means that range shows the minimum and maximum values within a relationship. The difference between the minimum and maximum value is also known as the range of a data set, hence the name.
Finding Range from a Table
When given a table, it's easy to find the range. Simply take all of the given y-values and arrange them from least to greatest. In the table above, the right side represents the y-values. These values include 9, 3, and -6. So, to correctly show the range we should list these values in ascending order and then place them in parentheses.
Even though these y-values are repeated multiple times, only write each y-value once.
