The sequence of events is told in a story, the episode is also known as the narrative structure. In general, there are five elements to a plot: presentation or setting, incremental action (which complicates the story), climax or crisis, falling action, and resolution.
The upward action culminates at the climax, at which point the conflict is resolved. Then it becomes a failed act, where the story begins to end and the consequences begin. And finally, it ends in a resolution where we see the new "normal" and our characters close.
The climax is the climax of tension in a plot, often represented by the confrontation between the protagonist and the villain.
