In the year 1782 well-traveled French aristocrat Jean de Crevecoeur, published several letters from an American Farmer and sheds light by making a contrast between European nations and American camps and colonies.
He further explained the American individual as a “Descendant of Europeans”, who would be an honest, faithful, and hard-working person and he must have prospered if he were given the opportunity of work and welcoming residence. Resultantly, he would accept the new world and partially forget his own cultural values.
He also emphasized Americans as a melting pot of people from all across the globe and praised that the American people have great zeal and potential.
The goal of the Crevecoeur is to demonstrate the superiority of the laws and regulations and possibilities of the new emerging world and to project an image of America as being flawless and superior to Europe.
