What happened at the Ocotillo Ball?
Stargirl attends the ball by herself, looking lovely as always, and having a great time. The shunning has abruptly ended. She's back as Queen Bee, leading everybody in a spectacular version of the bunny hop.
The Ocotillo Ball was performed on the tennis courts at the Mica Country Club on a Saturday night in late May. As Stargirl anticipated, Leo did not invite her to the dance. Rather, he rode his bike to the dance and stood back to watch the proceedings.
