P(g) = N(g)/N(s) = 2/30 = 1/15.
P(sil) = N(sil)/N(s) = 7/30.
P(b) = N(b)/N(s) = 21/30 = 7/10.
Given if it is gold, you win 4dollars. If it is silver, you win 2 dollars. If it is black, you lose 1 dollars.
The expected value if you play this game is
= 4P(g) + 2P(sil) - 1P(b)
= 4(1/15) + 2(7/30) - 1(7/10).
