It is a true statement that; Skinner formulated the learning model known as operant conditioning.

What is operant conditioning?

The term operant conditioning has to do with the situation in which learning occurs by the use of rewards and punishment. This is consistent with the behaviorist idea of learning in psychology.

We know that psychology is the study of human behavior as well as the mental processes. The behaviorist perspective was the elementary focus of psychology as it provided an empirical dimension to the study of human behavior. Operant conditioning has to do with behaviourism.

If a reward follows a particular behavior, the behavior would tend to be displayed more often. This is what we call reinforcement. If on the other hand a behavior is punished, it is less likely to reoccur

Hence, it is a true statement that; Skinner formulated the learning model known as operant conditioning.
