An activity known as The Circle of Divinations can be chosen to encourage companionship and self-esteem in children.
This activity will take about 15 minutes and should be established as follows:
- All children will sit in a circle.
- Each child will write down 3 characteristics that they admire about the child sitting to their right.
- Children who cannot write should ask the teacher for help.
- After writing the features, the name of the feature owner must be written at the end.
- All children will place the paper with the characteristics in a box.
- The teacher must remove each paper containing the characteristics, read them to the children and they must guess who owns the characteristics.
- The teacher can expose more positive characteristics to help the children arrive at the right answer.
How can this increase children's self-esteem and companionship?
When children hear positive traits found in themselves, they will have a more positive view of themselves and will be able to appreciate traits they didn't even know they had. In addition, children will praise each other, reinforcing how they are companions and that a positive friendship exists between them.
