Kohlberg’s moral stage focuses on development of morality and moral reasoning in children. The different stages of moral development are-

1. Pre-conventional morality- It lasts until the age of 9. It is shaped by the expectations of adults. It is divided into two stages- Obedience and punishment & individualism and exchange.

2. Conventional morality- This period occurs after the acceptance of authority and conforming to the norms of the group. It includes- Good interpersonal relation & maintaining social order.

3. Post conventional morality- It occurs after the person develop an understanding of abstract of morality.
