The Great compromise was the compromise of larger states in the representation in Senate and the smaller states in the representation of the house of representatives.

In their report they framed a type of structure in which both the larger and the smaller populous states had to compromise at one and another point, that was,
- The states would get representation according to population, and here the lower populated states compromised, in the House of Representatives.
- The states would get an equal representation in the Senate, and here the larger populated states have to compromise.
This structure of congress satisfied both the groups of states and compromised at the given points and formed Congress of U.S.A. .
