Project teams is the term that is used to refer to Ad hoc committees, taskforce, and cross-functional teams
Ad hoc committees meet when there is a need and they have to fulfill a mission within a time limit.
Task forces ,such teams are created when there is a special need to work on a specific project .Sometimes the task might be a critical one which needs immediate attention .
Cross functional teams is a team which has people with different skills and abilities coming from different background who come together to successfully complete the task .
All the above teams come under the head of Project teams.
