A village refers to a clustered human settlement that is bigger than a hamlet but smaller than a town. The population in these villages ranges from a few hundreds to a few thousands.
Several times we also address villages as urban village since they might be located near an urban area.
Although most of the villages are permanent in nature, there are chances of seeing transient villages as well. Furthermore, the houses in the villages are located very close to each other and are not scattered like a dispersed settlement.
