According to some research, the degree of explicit prejudice has declined, but because of implicit prejudice it has gone underground and become more covert (acting unprejudiced on the outside but maintaining their prejudice feelings).
Prejudice:

- Being prejudiced against those who were not born in the United States is one example. Even if those who hold this bias don't know all foreigners personally, they disapprove of them because they are foreigners.
- A person's upbringing may contribute to their bias. There is a possibility that parents' preconceptions will be handed along to their children if they themselves had any. One negative encounter with a member of a certain group can lead a person to assume that all members of that group are the same.
- Prejudice frequently manifests as a predisposition to discriminate against members of the group, as well as negative attitudes and stereotypical views about them. Prejudices based on traits including ethnicity, sex, religion, culture, and more are frequently observed in society.
