Let the border be width  = x

then the area of the border will be

2(6x) + 2(15x) +4x2 = 46

= 12x +30x+ 4x2 = 46

= 4x2 + 42x - 46 = 0

=> x =( -42 +- √42² +4*4*46)/8

x =1 , x = -11.5

since the width is 1 meter.
