The five items that were the greatest factors in the fall of the Soviet Union are:

  1. Gorbachev appointed as the General Secretary of the Communist Party
  2. The Prague Spring
  3. Velvet Revolution
  4. The fall of the Berlin Wall
  5. The 1956 Hungarian Uprising.

What caused the fall of the Soviet Union?

The series of decisions that were taken by Mikhail Gorbachev, the Soviet leader to allow elections in a multi-party system and other democratic acts eventually contributed to the fall.

Hence, we can see from the nine images given, we can see that they contain several factors that led to this downfall and the fall of the Berlin Wall and the appointment of Mikhail Gorbachev along with other factors were responsible for this.
