Cod be on the risk of extinction because overfishing will lead to a decrease in the species.

What is Extinction?

This is the process in which certain species die out in the ecosystem due to overexploitation etc.

When the cod fishes are overfished, it will decrease the number of species available for reproduction in order to produce more offsprings which increases its risk of extinction.
