Height of the object, h = 6cm

Object dist. u = - 30 cm

Radius = 40 cm.

Focal length  f = ?

Image distance v = ?

Image height h’ = ?

Focal length f = R / 2

                      = 40 / 2

                      = 20 cm

From mirror formula

1/v + 1/u = 1/f

1/v = 1/20 + 1/30

1/v = (3+2) / 60

v = 12 cm

Image is behind the mirror and the image is virtual and exact.

To find out the image height let us use magnification formula  : m = h’ / h = -v / u

h’ = -v*h /u

   = (-12) 6 / (-30)

   = 12/ 5

   = 2.4 cm (image is smaller )

What is focal length ?

The focal length ( f ) is the distance from a lens or mirror to the focal point ( F ). This is the distance from a lens or mirror at which parallel light rays will meet.
