Which factor most contributed to the spread of Islam in sub-Saharan Africa?

A. The Sahara desert was declared a holy site for Muslims around
the world.

B. The Songhai Empire spread Islam to the lands it conquered.

C. Migrants from Muslim kingdoms in the Middle East settled in
western Africa.

D. The Muslim Empire formed a military alliance with the Kingdom of
Ghana.

Respuesta :

The answer would be C because migrants/merchants that were Muslim along the Silk Road not only traded items, they spread religious beliefs too.

I chose the answer that the other person wrote but it was wrong

If you have a different answer like me it would be "king Mansa Musa of Mali encouraged his subject to begin following Islam."
