What is the blind situation compared to?
After receiving surgery, a woman who was previously blind can suddenly sight in Fatima Naoot's poetry "Blind." The woman, who has grown accustomed to having literature read to her, now faces a new reality.
Although she can see, this does not imply that she can read. She is illiterate, which causes her agony and strain, similar to a "pen bent before finishing the story." She doesn't have a choice but to learn now.
