Answer:

I’m not gonna show you a graph but these instructions should help…

For the first equation.
You have

5y = -3x + 15

So we have to put it in y=mx + b format.

We can isolate y.
Divide 5 on both sides.

y = -3/5 x +3

You have your equation right htere.

The y intercept (b) here is 3 following the format y=mx +b

So now you plot a point on (0,3) since thats your Y- intercept, first point of contact on the y axis. Now for the slope. Slope goes by rise / run. Think of it as you get out of bed, you have to get up first before you run off to whatever you do.

Now you can just follow the instructions give, -3/5 is -3 rise and 5 run. Since a -3 rise is going down, we do down since its a negative slope here.
Starting from (0,3) you go down 3 units, then at that point go to the RIGHT 5 units. You should have a plotted point on, (5,0). Now following the postulate, if two lines exists in a plane that a line is created, draw a line using the 2 points from (0,3) to (5,0). (Draw throguh the whole thing, not segment and make sure it fills up the whole coordinate plane)

That is your equation.

For the second equation its the same thing, but this time it’s an inequality.
It’s the same gist and the equation is already simplified due for you!

Start on the y- intercept which is -2, or (0,-2)

Now since it’s a positive slope, because its 1/2, rise 1, run 2. From (0,-2) rise up 1 and then run two units to the RIGHT.
You should end up with, (2, -1)

Construct a line throught he two points (not segment line, fill the whole plane).

Now since its an inequality, we don’t stop there.

It’s a less then sign so when constructed the line that fills the whole plane.

You have to shade the bottom RIGHT of your screen that has a line throguh it.
So basically a line is made though two points and you have the whole plane covered. Shade in the bottom part WITHOUT crossing over the line.
