There is repetition, where the poet has repeated "in spite of", meaning that despite these things, all of this still happens. There is also imagery in this example. Using the words, we can see what the speaker wants us to see. They want us to see the morning burns whiteley, or how life is full of joy, and yet it is despite all of the war and death. A "whispering breath" can mean two things. That the speaker is dreaming, or that the voice they hear is their own, in their mind. "Altar" is being used as a setting, a place we can see the morning, unlike in other poems. Lastly, we see the word "ecstasy"be used, and while it literally means something that is full of joy and happiness, the connotation here is the same thing.
