The major cause of degradation of our language in belize is due to the isolation from both speakers of the first language ( Belize language ) and the acquisition and use of a second language, which interferes with the correct production and comprehension of the first.
This is also as a result of the fact that the Authorities of Belize have been slow in addressing problems persistent in their language degradation.

Bear in mind, most Belizeans speak Creole patois. other languages used a medium of communication include Yucatec, Mopán, Kekchí and others
Although, English is their official language while many of them are multilingual.
