The followers of romanticism were vexed about the Industrial Revolution and the enlightenment because the industrial revolution was the exact opposite or negation of what romanticism stood for.
The romantics stood for and preached the appreciation of nature and its splendor, motion rather than reason and intelligence, the natural goodness of humans, etc.
The Industrial Revolution, in contrast to, introduced and promoted child labor. Many of the children died from exhaustion. They, in some cases, began working at the age of four and worked very long hours.
The Enlightenment on the other hand were instituting an oppressive society that could best be described as conformist. They believed that science and reason didn't have the capacity to help man understand completely, the world and personality of a human.
