Nucleus

The nucleus is an important organelle in all eukaryotic cells and is the most noticeable organelle under the microscope. Nucleus is located in the center of the cell and it contains the cell’s DNA (genetic material). The nucleus controls the synthesis of proteins and ribosomes along with every activities of the cell. The nucleus is surrounded by a double-membrane structure (nuclear envelope) which separates the nucleus contents from the cellular cytoplasm, and also regulates the movement of substances in and out of the nucleus.
