First, graph the line. Second, test a point that is not on the line ((0,0) is often a good one to try, so long as its not a point on the line) and plug it into the the inequality. If the inequality is FALSE then that point is not a part of the shaded area on the graph. If the inequality is TRUE then the point is a part of the shaded side of the graphed line. Remember, the graphed line is solid if it is ≥, or ≤, and a dotted line if it is < or >. Hope this is what you wanted and makes sense!
