Made the South's economy grow rapidly and a small effect that a lot of people don't know is that it made the more demand of slaves and cotton products. And also new states formed due to plantations growing in size.

The invention of the cotton gin was a revolution in the cotton industry. Due to the manner in which this sector was exploited in the US, it led to a large increase in slavery in the Southern states, in order to meet the constantly growing demand for cotton using a larger workforce.

It is belived that this inventions was one of the silent factors that contributed to the outbreak of the American Civil War.
