A honeybadger is walking forward. There is an applied force from the animal of 19 N to the right, a frictional force of 36 N to the left, a force of gravity of 60 N down and the animal is being pushed up by the ground with 60 N. What best describes the motion of the animal?

a
The animal will move to the right due to an unbalanced force on the right
b
The animal will move down due to an unbalanced force down
c
The animal will move to the left due to an unbalanced force on the left
d
The animal will move up due to an unbalanced force upwards

A car company is doing crash testing using crash dummies. When the car hits an object, it stops. The crash test dummy, who wasn't wearing their seatbelt, flies through the windshiled. Which of the following explains what is happening using Newton's Laws?

a
The object provided a force to stop the car, but the test dummy body was still moving which is what caused it to fly out of the windshield
b
The car seat pushed the test dummy, causing a rapid force that made it fly through the windshield
c
The car hit the object which provided a force on it, the object will provide another force back on the car, equal in magnitude but opposite in direct
d
The car pushes the object with such force that it causes the object to move forward, which makes the test dummy lunge forward through the windshield

Why is it easier for Ms. Vetter to push the box that her Christmas tree is in, that is already moving instead of the same box that is stationary?

a
The normal force on the object is different if it is stationary or not
b
The force of friction on the object is different if it is stationary or not
c
The force of the push on the object is different if it is stationary or not
d
The force of gravity on the object is different if it is stationary or not.

Respuesta :

According to the law of inertia, Ms. Vetter will find it easier to push a box that is already in motion.

Let us recall that an object will move in in the direction of the larger force when an object is acted upon by a system of unbalanced forces. The honeybadger will move towards the left.

According to Newton's laws of motion, an object will continue in its state of rest or uniform motion unless it is acted upon by an external unbalanced force. Hence, the dummy flies out through the window because, the car pushes the object with such force that it causes the object to move forward, which makes the test dummy lunge forward through the windshield.

Again following Newton's law of inertia, a body tends to continue in its state of uniform motion hence so it is  easier for Ms. Vetter to push the box that her Christmas tree is in, that is already moving instead of the same box that is stationary. The reason behind this is that, the force of friction on the object is different if it is stationary or not.

According to Newton's Third Law, if a sledgehammer hits a wall with a force of 1000 N, the force with which the wall hits the sledgehammer is - 1000 N.
