People often holds different beliefs. Hoover's belief that Americans should maintain their individualism affect his response to the Depression because He wanted to provide indirect aid to people.
Herbert Hoover was known to be a US president as at the time of the Great Depression. He believed in rugged individualism. He was known to have urged local governments to create jobs for the people.
He had good intentions for the people and wanted to make life better for them. Due to Hoover's plan, there were an increase in inheritance taxes, public dams etc. but in his main vision was that he wanted to give greater individuality to the population.
