All humans have evil inside them, which is constantly shown throughout the book with Jack, when he is clearly shown to enjoy hunting and killing and clearly has an attraction to it- a sort of bloodlust. Even Ralph, who is shown to be one of the most civilised boys on the island at some points, such as when hunting in chapter 5 (or 6 I can’t remember) he joins in and becomes almost mad. Golding shows the evil in the boys with the tragic deaths of Simon and piggy and is often referring to this throughout the text

Answer:

Lord of the Flies provides an insightful look at human behavior in a world where the standards of a civilized society no longer apply. Golding believes that man is inherently bad, and the novel powerfully supports this belief. It also warns us of our proclivity to devolve from order to chaos when the time comes.
