Plant absorb a large quantity of water from the soil by roots . this water reaches to different part of the plant by ascent of sap . the total quantity of water absorbed by plant is more than their requirement. only a fraction of this water from a vapour throw the aerial parts like (stem , leaves , buds , and , flower) of plant which constitute about 95% of total absorbed water . this process is called transpiration .

Types of Transpiration -:
1 Stomatal Transpiration ;
- it take place through stomata present on leaves it is also called foliar Transpiration. it constitutes about 80-95% at total Transpiration.
2 Cuticular Transpiration;
- it take place by cuticle present on the epidermis of plant it is constituted about 5-10% of total transpiration it rate is high in tropical climate and low desert climate.
3 Lenticular Transpiration
- it take place through lenticles found in Woody stem and in some fruits it constitute 0.1-1% only of total transpiration.
