Nevertheless, he eventually grew lonely and then created an ivory sculpture of a beautiful woman. He fell in love with the sculpture and prayed to Aphrodite to help him bring the sculpture to life.
The god granted his wish and the woman became his wife. They both lived happily. This showed that his decision about being single was changed later at the end of the story.
