Explanation: The first thing to ask yourself, what does being American mean to you? I'm mixed race of Creole/Portuguese. For me, having my traditions, my culture, and living in America to try my best to live and be free. What I mean by being free is sharing my thoughts, ideas, other cultures and enjoy living in a world where I can go as I please. I'm free to learn what I want to learn, and make sure that I can achieve this with the support from my local community or communities.
Yes, I will have problems, but not as some parts of the world today that are fighting for their freedoms and equal rights. So being free as an American is enjoying and being grateful that you have the rights, privileges, to do grow and live the way you see fit for yourself, not being afraid to stand up for what you believe or want to achieve in this life.
