Scale diagrams can be used for the calculation of forces when accurately
drawn
Please find attached the drawing of the three forces created with MS Word
Details:
Force A:
Please find attached the drawing to scale of 1 mm = 1 Newton
The three forces are;
Force A[tex]_y[/tex] = 47.3 N
Force Aₓ = 0
The magnitude of force A = 47.3 N acting at an angle of 90° from the horizontal x-axis
Force B:
Force Bₓ = 40.01 N of force B acts in the horizontal direction
Force B[tex]_y[/tex] = 35.14 N of force B act in the the vertical y-direction
The magnitude of force B = √(40.01² + 35.14²) ≈ 53.25
The magnitude of force B ≈ 53.25 N
The direction, θ ≈ arctan(35.14/40.01) ≈ 41.29° from the horizontal x-axis
Therefore, force B ≈ 53.25 N acting in the direction of approximately 41.29°
Force C:
Force Cₓ = 53 N, acting along the x-axis
Force C[tex]_y[/tex] = 0
Therefore;
The magnitude of force C = 53 N
Direction of force C = 0° from the x-axis
