Respuesta :

X=3

Algebra is not one of my fav subjects in math but I do know this!

when solving what you do to one side you do to the other so

if 3x-2=7

the 2 is negative so you change that -2 into a positive

so add 2 to both sides

7+2=9

3x=9

now divide both sides by 3

X= 9/3 (nine over three)

now divide 9 by 3

9÷3=3

x=3

(Hope this helps!)

The mathematical operation which must be performed on both sides of the equation, in order to isolate the variable (x) is to add 2.

What is a system of linear equations?

A system of linear equations can be defined as an algebraic equation of the first order that has two (2) variables with each of its term having an exponent of one (1).

In this exercise, the mathematical operation which must be performed on both sides of the equation, in order to isolate the variable (x) is to add 2 as shown below:

[tex]7=3x-2\\\\7+2=3x-2+2\\\\9=3x\\\\x=\frac{3}{9} \\\\x=\frac{1}{3}[/tex]
