Science depends on the formation of hypothesis to solve complex problems in the world.
Science is empirical in nature. The experiments in science must be carefully controlled. This limits the ability of science to test certain hypothesis which are not amenable to carefully controlled experiments. As a result of this there are certain things that can not be incontrovertibly proven be science.
Also, the formulation of hypothesis and hypothesis-testing could be influenced by the biases of the scientist involved in problem solving. This influences his results and is an obvious limitation in the scientific method.
