So, here goes our answer;
Let's take XQ, here we can see 2 resistors which are connected in series so,
Now, see the connection from X to Y; (see attachment) we can clearly see our two resistors are in series,
Now, take the another side, from X to Y again we can observe they are in series so,
And finally, we can see our 3 resistors which are parallel to each other & for parellel resistors the formula is;
1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2... 1/Rn
So,
- 1/R = 1/4 + 1/3 + 1/6
- 1/R = 3 + 4 + 2/12
- 1/R = 9/12
- 1/R = 3/4
- R = 4/3
And therefore, the equilibrium resistance between X and Y is 4/3Ω.
