In 1990, the population of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area was 1679 thousand people. The table shows the average rate of change in the population for two periods of time. Find the total population in 2000 and 2002.

  • Now, from year 2000 to year 2002, the average rate of change is -6,500 people per year.
