Answer:
Benjamin is the oldest animal on the animal farm. Not only is he the oldest, but he is the wisest donkey and animal in the novel. He is apathetic and would seem unaffected by the looming rebellion that other animals worry about. He is very smart and intelligent on the situation. However, his apathy towards his fellow animals does not endear him to them. He does his job and only his job, no more no less, to keep himself in the best neutral position possible. I believe he doesn't really seem affected by the rebellion because he is wise enough to know it will eventually fail. He avoids confrontation, and opportunities to do outstanding in the society because he feels most comfortable right where he is at. I think he has the most correct and best view of society because he knows it is becoming too oppressive on the animals.
