There are many reasons why an innocent person could be convicted of a crime that they didn't commit; wrong place at the wrong time, being set up, or the evidence just happens to point towards them.
1. This is unfair because people in the justice system are supposed to only initiate the arrest of someone if they had seen the crime being committed first hand, or if they are 100% positive with the proof they gathered.
2. These issues can be avoided with better training on the cops end.
3. During your arrest, if you claim that you are innocent, do not resist because this can lead to the potential use of a deadly weapon against you. Stay calm.
4. Only if a person is wrongly convicted of a crime and forced to have spent years of their lives locked away for it, do I believe they deserve compensation from the government. They would have lost many life opportunities due to being falsely imprisoned.
