I assume that your question is: "Why are not more Americans farmers?" This is due for numerous reasons:
1. Farmers, and their families, moved to cities in hopes of a better life.
2. Urbanization is almost forcing people to change their farming lifestyle too better "keep up with the times."
3. Farming can be very difficult, and now, even a competitive job. For people who do not have the resources to do it they cannot keep up with other farmers.
