Vertical lines do not have a slope.

It is impossible to use the slope form equation of y = mx + b and make it where the slope is vertical because there is no slope to insert for m!

Imagine a wheel chair ramp. That has a slope, and we know it has one because the wheel chair can go up it. Imagine a pole. It has no slope because it is impossible for the wheel chair to drive up it.
A vertical line has an undefined slope because all points on the line have the same x -coordinate. as a result for the formula used for the slope has a denominator of 0. Which makes the slope undefied
