During the winter time total number of hours of sunlight decreases. What effect would this have on the process of photosynthesis

During the winter, the process of photosynthesis would be slowed down. Without as much sunlight, the chloroplasts would not be able to produce as much chlorophyll because of the lack of sunlight.
