Hobos during the Great Depression had to rely on picking up day labor but had a huge and growing competition from those increasing numbers of people who lost their jobs. Food was scarce and once the war begin there was rationing. Hobos and others without an address found it hard to get food rations
In order to survive, Hobboes usually rely on Scraps, Charity, and small day labor works to sustain their living.
During the Depression, most people are also trapped in difficult situation due to massive inflation and unemployment.
Because of this, the amount of Scraps, Charity, and day labors that The hobboes usually rely on become dramatically decreased. This make their lives become extremely difficult.
