Why, in this sentence do you use "isn't", when "isn't" is a contraction of "is not". The sentence is, "Isn't that right?"

Because if you said " Is not that right?" Would that make sense if someone said that. It would not make any sense!!!
Well, it might be a "Contraction" But it doesn't always mean it, Listen to this sentence. "Mrs. Polar said i was bullying her son, and she said, 'isn't that right roger?" She means that she wants her son telling the truth, not saying is not. i really had no clue xD so this probably will not help you at all. if it does, im glad i could help!
