A British Indentured Servant is described as a person that travelled to the New World without their own resources, in order to better their lives.
This practise was a popular practise after the abolition of slavery, where plantation owners turned to indentured servants for cheap labor, in order to get work done.
Some characteristics of a British Indentured Servant is that:
- They usually come from faraway places to give out their services for a price
- They are forced to migrate because of lack of resources
- They mainly engage in manual labor
